Note/Correction: Urate crystals are negatively birefringent and thus yellow when aligned parallel but blue when aligned across the direction of polarization (no need to know what all of this means). Pseudogout crytals are the opposite (ie. Blue when aligned parallele and yellow when perpendicular).
